Vernon E. Benjamin, Jr

Vernon E. Benjamin, Jr was born and raised in Rock Hill, SC. He is a product of Rock Hill School District, a graduate of Rock Hill School (once a Bearcat Always a Bearcat). While there, he was a basketball superstar. In 1998-99, he was awarded the Player of the Year, All State First Team, All Conference Team, Celriver Classic All Tournament Team, Celriver Classic 3-point Champion, and All-Star Basketball Game. Upon his graduation from Rock Hill High School, he was awarded a scholarship to attend Johnson C. Smith (JCSU), home of the Golden Bulls. 

Vernon majored in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice. While in attendance at JCSU, he continued to shine on and off the court. In 2001, he helped lead the Golden Bulls to a CIAA championship and was awarded All Rookie of the Year followed by  NCAA Appearance (2000), Sportsmanship Award (2001), All Conference Team (2002, 2003), All Tournament Team (2003), Most Outstanding  Offensive Award (2003), and All CIAA (2002, 2003) . 

Vernon is passionate about basketball. In his spare time, you will find him mentoring, or coaching young boys about the fundamentals of basketball through his summer camp, All About Benjamin Basketball Camp and Clinic. 

When he is not playing basketball or coaching, you will find him spending time with his family, 4 boys (Imari, Tre, Messiah, Princeton, and Carter),  1 girl (Keri), and girlfriend, Cierra Moore.
